Note: Real-world output varies by brand, model, color temperature, and driver efficiency. This tool uses typical lm/W values.
How to Convert Watts to Lumens
To convert watts to lumens, you need the watts to lumens formula:
Lumens = Watts × Luminous Efficacy (lm/W)
The luminous efficacy depends on the bulb type. For example, LED bulbs often produce 80–120 lumens per watt, while incandescent bulbs produce only 10–15 lumens per watt.
Watts to Lumens Formula
The general watts to lumens formula is:
Lumens = Watts × Lumens per Watt
Where:
- Watts = power consumed by the bulb.
- Lumens per Watt (lm/W) = efficiency rating of the bulb.
Example: A 10-watt LED (100 lm/W) produces about 1,000 lumens.
How Many Lumens Are in 1 Watt?
The number of lumens per watt varies:
- LED: ~80–120 lumens per watt
- CFL: ~55–70 lumens per watt
- Incandescent: ~10–15 lumens per watt
So, 1 watt can produce anywhere from 10 to 120 lumens depending on the light source.
